The Vanilla Mozi Concept – Using Flowers to hide from Mosquitoes.

Flowers. Not only are they beautiful to have on display in our gardens and homes, they have an extremely important role in our ecosystem and may be the key to providing a natural and more pleasant choice in insect protection.

Flowers attract many insects to potentially assist with pollination. https://sciencing.com/make-lilac-fragrance-5899056.html
“Scientists say that nectar is one of the crucial food sources for all species of mosquitoes. Indeed, for male mosquitoes, it is the only source of food, while female mosquitoes also feed exclusively on nectar for all but a few days of their life cycle when they are laying their eggs” says Dr. Liji Thomas. https://www.news-medical.net/news/20200122/Study-explains-equal-attraction-of-mosquitoes-to-flowers-and-humans.aspx

Flowers use colour and scent to draw in specific insects. Scents are very complex and made of many compounds that insects can differentiate from. “We often describe ‘scent’ as if it’s one thing — like the scent of a flower, or the scent of a person,” said Riffell, a Professor of Biology at the University of Washington. “Scent is actually a complex combination of chemicals — the scent of a rose consists of more than 300 — and mosquitoes can detect the individual types of chemicals that make up a scent.” https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/01/200122080547.htm

Also according to Riffell, mosquitoes are not drawn to ALL flowers. Some flowers have varying levels of chemical compounds in their scent that Mosquitoes are NOT attracted to. The mosquitoes then deem these flowers as NOT a food source.
“Mosquitoes are processing the ratio of chemicals, not just the presence or absence of them,” said Riffell. “This isn’t just important for flower discrimination — it’s also important for how Mosquitoes discern between you and I. Human scent is very complex, and what is probably important for attracting or repelling mosquitoes is the ratio of particular chemicals. We know that some people get bit more than others, and maybe a difference in ratio explains why.”

Therefore, it’s all about blending into nature, as seen by many hunters. They go to great lengths to mask their smell so as not to alert the Deer, Elk or Bear of their presence. Advice from https://www.liveoutdoors.com/hunting/229803-6-ways-to-mask-your-scent/
suggests-

“One way to mask your scent is to use a natural smell that is familiar to animals and will not alert them to your presence”.

Perhaps the future of insect repellents lies with blending into the mosquitoes environment rather than using harsh repelling chemicals.

Further research is required to explore if we can mask our different human scents with the beautiful smells of flowers that mosquitoes are not interested in and therefore protect ourselves from insect bites, naturally.

Vanilla Mozi has created a unique flower based propriety blend of fragrances that have no interest to mosquitos. Vanilla Mozi does not repel mosquitos nor does it contain any ingredients found in common insect repellents.
