There is something about the combination of basil, tangerine and cocoa that is difficult to put into words and easy to understand the moment you smell it. Sharp and fresh and warm all at once. The kind of scent that stays in the room after the shower is finished.
Women buy this soap for the men in their lives. Men keep buying it for themselves.
New Zealand volcanic ash. Basil essential oil. Tangerine essential oil. Cocoa powder for its warm, natural depth. Built on a Coco base of organic coconut oil and cocoa butter. Cold processed, cured for four weeks, handmade in small batches in Noosa. This is what an exceptional men's soap looks like.
New Zealand volcanic ash — the mineral purifier
Volcanic ash has been used in skincare for centuries. Rich in minerals and with a uniquely fine-grained texture, volcanic ash draws impurities and excess sebum from the skin with a thoroughness that few natural ingredients can match, while remaining gentle enough for daily use. The ash in the Men's Coco Soap is sourced from New Zealand — where volcanic geology produces one of the most mineral-rich and cosmetically active ashes available.
The result is a deeply purifying bar that is particularly well suited to men's skin — with its larger pores, higher sebum production and daily shaving — without stripping or irritating.
The scent story
Basil essential oil — sharp, clean and herbaceous. Tangerine essential oil — fresh and bright, softening the basil into something sophisticated. Cocoa powder — a warm, natural depth that grounds the formula and adds an undertone that is genuinely unexpected. Together they create a scent profile that is distinctly masculine without being predictable — invigorating and sensual in equal measure.
If you use the Men's Precious Face Oil, you will recognise the scent immediately. The basil and tangerine signature is deliberate — a shared botanical identity across a men's range that works as a complete ritual. The soap in the shower. The face oil at night. One scent. Two products. A routine that requires almost no thought and delivers everything men's skin actually needs.
The art — and science — of cold processing
Most commercial soap is made with heat — a process that destroys the natural glycerin, vitamins and botanical nutrients present in the base oils. Cold processing combines organic plant oils with lye at lower temperatures, preserving everything that makes a genuinely nourishing soap possible. The lye fully converts during the curing period. No lye remains in the finished soap. Each Coco Soap is cured for a minimum of four weeks to develop a hard, long-lasting bar with exceptional lather.
Eight ingredients. Every one deliberate.
The Coco base — organic coconut oil, organic cocoa butter, filtered rainwater and lye. New Zealand volcanic ash. Basil essential oil. Tangerine essential oil. Cocoa powder. Nothing else.
Born from nature. Backed by science. Made with love.
FAQs
Q1. What does cold processed mean?
Cold processing is a traditional soap-making technique that preserves the natural glycerin, vitamins and botanical nutrients present in the base oils. Most commercial soap is made with heat, which destroys these properties — leaving a bar that strips the skin rather than nourishing it. Cold processing combines organic plant oils with lye at lower temperatures, retaining everything that makes a genuinely nourishing soap possible. Each Vanilla Mozi Coco Soap is then cured for a minimum of four weeks to develop a hard, long-lasting bar with exceptional lather. The result is a soap that genuinely nourishes — not just cleanses.
Q2. Is there lye in the finished soap?
No lye remains in the finished soap. Lye — sodium hydroxide — is a necessary step in the saponification process, the chemical reaction that converts plant oils into soap. During cold processing and the four-week curing period, all lye fully converts through its reaction with the oils. What remains is rich, dense botanical soap. No lye, no compromise.
Q3. Why does the label say 'cold pressed' rather than 'cold processed'?
The current labels use 'cold pressed' — we are aware this is a technical inaccuracy and will be corrected on the next label print run. Cold pressing is a method used for extracting oils. Cold processing is the correct term for our soap-making method, and it is the term used on the website and in all product descriptions.
Q4. Are the soaps suitable for sensitive skin?
All four Vanilla Mozi Coco Soaps are free from synthetic fragrances, parabens, SLS and palm oil, formulated with organic base oils. People with known sensitivities to specific essential oils should check the ingredient list for each soap before use, as each bar contains a different botanical essential oil blend.
Q5. Are the soaps vegan?
Yes — all four Coco Soaps are fully vegan, cruelty-free and palm oil-free.
Q6. How do I make my soap last longer?
Store your soap on a well-draining soap dish between uses — the Vanilla Mozi Wave Soap Dish was designed specifically for this purpose. Keeping the soap dry between uses significantly extends bar life. Cold processed soaps are denser and longer-lasting than commercial bars, but they do need to drain properly between each use.
Q7. Where are the soaps made?
Handmade in small batches in Noosa, Queensland, Australia. Each batch is cold processed and cured for a minimum of four weeks before sale.
Q8. How long does a 150g bar last?
With regular daily use by one person, a 150g cold processed bar typically lasts four to six weeks — longer if stored correctly on a draining soap dish between uses. Cold processed bars are denser and longer-lasting than commercial equivalents.
